At Toys R Us, my 6-year old son insists on buying a Barbie. I scream “A Barbie!” “Batman’s much cooler.” “No! I want Barbie.” Accepting the situation, we go home. To my surprise, Barbie gets tied to the train track and he says, “ Finally, superman has someone to rescue.”
This is a hilarious story! The last sentence perfectly ties it all together. Very surprising!!!

ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing this story Abdullah, it was very funny and enjoyable. Its hard to imagine that a 50 word story could have a genuinely surprising ending. This story did just that; well done!
ReplyDeleteI could well imagine what was going through a fathers mind at this point!
ReplyDeleteI could feel the relief as well when "Barbie" was tied to the train tracks.
Great story! Funny and great ending for the dad!

ReplyDeleteThis is a great story. Your colleagues validate how well you told it in only 50 words.
ReplyDeleteAbdullah,
ReplyDeleteI really enjoyed reading your mini-saga. The ending was certainly unexpected and humorous to say the least. Definitely a story that I’m sure most parents can relate to. Especially parents who have boys with an older sister!
I loved your story. Having raised 3 girls and a boy, the GI Joe and Barbie saga is very familiar.
ReplyDeleteHilarious story, I like you you chose to use a situation that worked well with an actual conversation. Something live in action.
