Organizational Memo

Dear Employee

Telecom ltd. confirms that again we assume the lead as the largest telecommunications operator in the region for its sophisticated services and its advanced achievements at the local, regional and international levels.

A decision of applying a new organizational structure, adopted by the Board of Directors, comes in line with an ambitious plan of the leadership strategy. We aim to focus energies and efforts to take advantage of the emerging opportunities and the willingness to face challenges of the future. It will help in keeping up with developments of the telecommunications market, which accelerated remarkably and require a great ability to adaptation so as to maintain the leading and developed position of our company.

My dear employee, these new developments are a commitment to continue our excellence and leadership in providing the best and latest services to the satisfaction of our customers. This will be achieved only through the cooperation and determined efforts of all employees who have in the past provided creativity and innovation.

We are proud to find that the young leaders, the members of the Telecom ltd. family, are in positions of responsibility to continue our pioneering success locally and globally.

  1. The ever changing rapid pace of the telecom industry should make memo's like this one a regular event. Setting up a process to manage this change is an excellent idea and will only be sucessful with the employee "buy in" of the concept. Now they just have to walk the talk.

  2. I belong to electronics industry and can easily relate to the adaptation part that you mentioned in your post. I believe that innovations and changing needs of the market are real difficult areas of this industry. Past performance is really of much help to predict future. But due to this nature, I have also noticed growth far more than S&P in shorter time periods.

  3. It has been a recent fascination of mine about how fast the telecom environment is changing, mobile phones in particular. It must be very difficult to keep up with the technology and changing expectations of customers, while still remaining competitive. I'm with Carl in saying that memos like this should be a regular reoccurrence. If anyone in this business allows their group to stagnate, you could be caught off guard when it's already too late to catch up!

  4. It is true. Things change really fast in this area. I work with the network and the replacement of old equipment and software with new ones is becoming more frequently then it used to be. And these kinds of memos should be a regular thing.

  5. This flows rather nicely. First and foremost, we are still a strong organizaton. Next, we have a new organizational structure to address the leadersip strategy. You wrap it up with addressing the employee on a personal level and reitterate the goals of the organization. I like the use of promising words such as cooperation, young leaders and innovation.

  6. Abdullah, I echo Paige's comments regarding the flow of your memo - very good. I also agree that challenging the workforce to adapt to the rapid change in the telecom industry makes sense.

Continue to work on your usage of the English language in written form.

  7. Abdullah, I think your organizational memo was well written. While managing to address your confidence in the company, you point out the challenges faced in such a rapid changing industry. I like how you encourage your employees to adapt to the rapid change while simultaneously expressing your confidence in the workforce. Much like other classmates have pointed out, I, too, think organizational memos like yours should be written more frequently.
